I just got bock home from being in San Jose for the weekend. I had a booth at the Sub ZERO Festival along with several other friends that the event. It was great time being there for the very first time. Although I grew up in San Jose, I have lived in Los Angeles for the last 6 years. Every time I wanted to attend the previous Sub Zero Festivals, I was always had something else to do. This year I made sure I was going to be there. I brought along a series of flower paintings on canvas to this event. In particular, the paintings were roses and my medium of choice was spray paint. These flowers were very challenging to paint. But as the weeks of preparation passed, I began to develop a method in which I used to paint the roses. I am still working on this technique and learning as I go.
The feed back and response I received from the paintings were very inspiring and motivating. I intend to use this energy as creative fuel. There will be many more roses yet to be painted. Thanks to everyone that stopped by and and checked out my work. It all made the experience much more meaningful. Here are a few pictures from my friend Shannon Mesa during the event.
Until next year Sub ZERO.
